Today, we sent to Tiger Kingdom just outside of Chiang Mai, and then to a Monkey Centre and Butterfly and Orchid Farm. Check out these picture of tigers. You could choose from babies and small tigers. They also had large tigers, but I was too young to go in that one. Who wants to go back there with me? Pretty cool, huh?

Check out this pay phone on the streets in Thailand. Looks kind of big and nasty, and I wonder how much longer they’ll be around. I hardly see any pay phones at home anymore, except maybe in airports. How did people live without cell phones? Oh yeah, my Dad told me about pagers. I asked him “Why didn’t you just call someone instead of paging him. That’s stupid!” I wonder if E.T. would have called home from this pay phone?
My Dad took this photo of me by some postcard racks, and I thought it was pretty funny. I’m a walking, talking postcard! This was taken near the biggest day market in Thailand. They have everything you could want there, including flowers, meat, food, clothes, jewelry and a whole bunch of stuff that I don’t even know what it is.
That’s a saying they have here in Thailand. Can you look at this logo for a saloon that’s pretty close to where we’re staying. Looks like it could be right out of Steamboat, right? But look closely, and you’ll see it’s an elephant. Like they say here, “same, same, only different!”
Chiang Mai has been around for over 700 years, and we’re staying in the Old City. The original city had a wall and a moat around it. Check out this photo from one of the corners of the Old City wall, where some brick remains are still there. Look at how it has sunk in over the years. I think that’s pretty cool!
In the hills above Chiang Mai, prosperity for a family is having at least a couple of pigs, some ducks, and fresh fruit. These pictures were taken in a mountain village about 1.5 hours outside of Chiang Mai.

Forget Hotwheels, I bought this at the night bazaar and you can mold it, bend it and shape into anything you want. I bought some of these for my friends, and when we get home we’ll have fun contests to see who can make the funniest shapes and expressions. I bought one for Aidan and one for Anna! If anyone else wants one, let me know!
That’s the way they say it in Thailand! I went there for lunch today, and oh my gosh, it was soooo good. I think a Mike’s burger and In-n-Out burgers are my favorite, or maybe I was just having withdrawals after not having a burger in weeks! What American food do you think you would miss the most after a long trip? Let me know.
At the night bazaar this evening, I came across this original painting. I told my Dad I had to get a picture of this. The title of the painting should be “don’t do meth, not even once.” How would you like to wake up to this painting in your bedroom every day! Yikes.
